A 32-year-old Indian engineer was shot dead at a bar in Kansas in the United States (US) on Tuesday. The incident took place on February, 22, when the shooter, identified as Adam Purinton, shot Srinivas Kuchibhotla, Alok Madasani and one another person at a bar in Olathe, Kansas.
Srinivas Kuchibhotla died in the hospital while the two others were released from the hospital on Thursday.
The gunman allegedly yelled “get out of my country” before he started the shooting at the bar.
Purinton, a 51-year-old US Navy veteran, who fled after the shooting was arrested 80 miles away from the crime scene.
He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of one of his victims.
Both Kuchibhotla and Madasani work with the Aviation Systems Engineering team at Garmin Ltd, in Olathe.
“Unfortunately, two associates on our Aviation Systems Engineering team, Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani, were shot. We are devastated to inform you that Srinivas passed away and Alok is currently recovering in the hospital,” Garmin said in the email addressed to its employees on Thursday.
