As per the recent inputs coming in from Uttar Pradesh (UP) ATS and the state police has cordoned off Dewa Sharif Shrine in Barabanki area of UP.
The security personnel are carrying out search operations in the same vicinity. The search operations were carried out in the nearby hotels and lodges.
As per reports, there might be presence of other terrorists in the area.
The operation and intense gunfire in the Thakurganj area of Lucknow lasted almost 12 hours resulting in the encounter of Islamic State (IS) operative Saifullah, who was believed to be behind the explosion on a train in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district on Tuesday raised some pertinent questions. Eight people were injured in the explosion.
Earlier, there were reports that the terrorists who have been arrested by the forces were also planning an attack on the Imambara a sacred place for the Shia Muslims in Lucknow.
It has also come to light that this action was taken after the images, blueprints and other crucial details of the important structures; including Imambara, Dewa shrine and hotels, were recovered from Saifullah’s laptop.
Security has also been increased in the Hussainabad area of Lucknow where the Imambara is situated.
