Manipur Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh-led BJP government is all set to face floor test on Monday in the 60-member Assembly.

N Biren Singh was sworn-in as the first Chief Minister of Manipur last week after a prolonged battle between Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Congress to form government in Manipur.

The Congress accused the Governor of not being invited to form the government despite being the single largest party in the state that ruled the state for 15 years.

The BJP government has already lodged all its legislators in a hotel in Guwahati with an Independent MLA and a Trinamool Congress lawmaker since Thursday.

The BJP won 21 seats and formed the state government with support of four MLAs of NPP and NPF, one from LJP and one each lawmaker of Congress and Trinamool Congress. This takes the BJP’s tally to 32.
