Top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Bashir Lashkari and another militant, Azad Malik, from the terror outfit were reportedly killed in an ongoing encounter between the terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Anantnag district on Saturday. Also, two civilians lost their lives in the fierce crossfiring.

As per a tip-off, around 3-4 militants are supposed to be hiding in a house at Dialgam village of Anantnag district and have taken the family members as hostage. A joint operation  by Rashtra Rifels, J&K Police and CRPF is underway.

Bashir Lashkari, a militant commander believed to have masterminded an ambush in Achabal area where six policemen including a Station House Officer (SHO) was killed last month, is hiding in a house in Brenthi Batpora village with three of his associates, as per police reports.

Sources also say that a good number of people were marching towards the encounter site to disturb the search operation. There are also reports of stone pelting going on in some villages around Anantnag. Meanwhile, the security forces have cordoned off the area and are trying to normalise the situation.

There are also reports that some top militants of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) are supposed to be hiding in the area.

Earlier on Friday,  one woman was reportedly injured after Pakistan on Friday violated ceasefire in Balakote sector of Poonch district in J&K.
