An eight-year-old boy was found dead in south Delhi with cigarette burns as well as injuries inflicted from a screwdriver, police said on Wednesday.
Police said the body was found on Tuesday evening in the parking area behind Delhi Development Authority‘s Low Income Group flats in Pul Prahladpur area.
Izak James, who stayed in the locality, had gone out for playing in the DDA park with his friends but did not return home. His father Ravi is a cable operator.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem, Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.
The police said prima facie, the crime appeared to be the outcome of animosity.
“We are trying to ascertain whether his family had animosity with anyone,” the officer added.
