The ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) by the Pakistani forces just doesn’t seem to end. On Monday, a minor girl was killed by the Pakistani forces in Balakot Sector, Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.

As per reports, the victim was identified as Sajida Kafeel, a 6-year-old girl residing in the Balakot Sector.

The incident took place after a shell from Pakistani side landed outside the house of the girl where she was playing. The girl who got severely injured in shelling, later succumbed to her injures. A woman was also injured in exchange of fire between the Indian and Pakistani armies.

Also, Naik Mudassar Rehman, a 27-year-old jawan of Indian Army was martyred after a shell from Pakistani forces landed on his bunker, severely injuring the jawan. The jawan succumbed to injures while he was being rushed to the hospital.

Sources suggest that the heavy shelling is still underway with the Indian Army giving a befitting reply.

Pakistan Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) had asked for talks with India after four of its soldiers were killed. Replying to the allegation, Indian Army DGMO highlighted that all the ceasefire violations were initiated by Pakistan and the killing were the result of the violation.

Commenting on then violations by Pakistan, India claimed that they reserve the right to retaliate appropriately while reiterating that Indian Army is sincere in maintaining peace & tranquillity along LoC.

Ceasefire violations were also reported in Balakote is in Poonch district and Rajouri’s Manjakote. Following the unrest, District Collector had ordered to close all schools near to LoC in Rajouri district.

Earlier in the day, Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta said that Pakistan is initiating the attack on the Indian positions on the LoC in Bhimber Gali sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

While speaking to IANS, he said, “The indiscriminate firing using small arms, automatics and mortars that started from 7.30 am is still on.”
