In a bid to sharpen Aam Aadmi Party government’s priorities, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reallocated the portfolios of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, according to sources.

Sisodia has been given charge of tourism portfolio from Water minister Rajender Gautam, while his revenue department and registrar of cooperative societies portfolios have been handed over to Kailash Gahlot and Rajendra Gautam respectively. Inducted into cabinet in May, Gahlot has also been given charge of Sisodia’s law, information technology and administrative reforms departments.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who had requested the chief minister to divest some of his portfolios, will however continue to look after education, finance and other departments.

According to sources, tourism will be one of the key focus areas for Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi govt in future along with education and health. The government also plans to make rural Delhi intrinsic to its development agenda.
