Senior diplomat and spokesperson of External Affairs Ministry, Gopal Baglay was appointed as the Joint Secretary in Prime Minister’s office on Friday. Gopal Baglay will be replacing Vinay Mohan Kwatra who has been named as the Indian envoy to France.
The appointment of Gopal Baglay comes in less than five months after he took charge as the spokesperson of External Affairs Ministry.
According to sources, Baglay will work closely with Vinay Mohan Kwatra in the PMO for an overlapping period of two weeks to facilitate smooth transition of work.
Gopal Baglay is a 1992 batch Indian Foreign Service officer.
