In a tragic incident being reported, 6 people were killed and 3 were reported to be severely injured after two vehicles collided on National Highway 24 (NH-24) in the national capital on Wednesday morning.

As per reports, the car with 9 people on board was heading towards Meerut from airport. The accident took place near Kalyanpuri, east Delhi. 

According to the eyewitnesses, the driver of the truck — coming from the other side of the road — lost control due to high speed, crossed the divider and rammed into the car coming from the other side.

Out of 9 people travelling in the car, 5 died on spot, 1 succumbed to injuries while being rushed to the hospital and three are said to be critically injured.

The family is said to be the native of Meerut. Sources suggest that the family of 6 had gone to the airport to receive 3 people, who were returning from Iran.

NH-24 connects Delhi and Lucknow, and passes through Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Shahjahanpur, and Sitapur.
