On Monday, actor Dileep’s manager AS Sunilra aka ‘Appunni’ surrendered before the police in connection over the ongoing investigation into the molestation and kidnapping of popular Malyalam actress earlier this year.
Appunni surrendered today, after the court had directed him to appear before the investigating team. Appunni’s presence was demanded by the prosecution claiming that his presence is need to ascertain if he was the part of the conspiracy involving the popular Malyalam actress.
According to sources, Appunni had switched off his phone and gone missing after the arrest of Dileep in the Malayalam actress abduction case.
As per reports, Dileep’s anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Kerala High Court on Friday.
Earlier, Dileep’s manager, Appunni had alleged that the police was trying to ‘fabricate’ evidences against him.
The 48-year-old actor, Dileep was arrested by the police for allegedly planning and plotting the abduction of a popular Malyalam actress. The actress had also acted in a number of films with the actor.
The actor, who pleads innocence and terms it as a conspiracy, has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) charges.
Previously on July 26, anchor and actress Rimi Tomy was also questioned by the Kerala police.
Rimi is said to be close to actor Dileep and his wife Kavya Madhavan.
