On Monday night, a 24-year-old was killed in an accident near Mandi House Metro station after he lost control of his sports bike and rammed into a wall near the metro station at around 9 in the evening.

The whole incident was captured on a camera mounted on the helmet of one of his friend racing behind him. The matter was highlighted after a call was received by the Delhi police from the accident spot.

As per reports, Himanshu, the deceased, along with two other friends — Lakshay & Gazi — were at Connaught Place discussing I-Day plans.

During the investigation it was found that Himanshu and Gazi were riding Italian makers’ Benelli TNT 600i and Lakshay was on the Kawasakhi Ninja 300 (usually fall under super bikes category).

Commenting on the matter, a police official said that Himanshu who was severly injured in the accident was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital by his friends where he was later declared dead by the doctors.

“When they reached Mandi House metro station, an elderly man crossing the road was hit by the speeding bike of Himanshu and lost control. It hit the wall of Lady Irwin College. Passersby helped the injured and sent him to a hospital. All this was recorded in the camera installed in Lakshay’s helmet,” Police official Singh said.

Benelli TNT is an imported bike by Italian makers and costs somewhere between Rs 5-6 lakhs. It is also the cheapest bike from Italian makers in the Indian market.
