DMK on Monday questioned the likely merger of two factions of AIADMK, terming it a ‘BJP-engineered’ move.
Talking to NewsX, DMK spokesperson Annadurai Saravanan alleged that it was not a natural merger and BJP was behind the move .
“It’s not a natural merger. The earlier split and the merger now, are being engineered by the BJP,” he said.
Sarvanan also wondered how the merger will be beneficial for people of Tamil Nadu.
“What will be the benefits for the people of TN? This is the question which is on everybody’s mind right now,” he said.
Two rival factions of AIADMK— one led by Chief Minister K. Palaniswami and the other led by former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam — are likely to merge on Monday. Governor C.V. Rao (holding additional charge in Tamil Nadu) is expected to be in the state for the swearing in.
