More than 5 police Jawans lost their life in Muzaffarpur area of Bihar on Sunday night when a speeding truck rammed into them during a police checking. As per reports, two police officials have also been injured in this incident.

The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital where they are undergoing treatment. Soon after the accident the villagers of the vicinity blocked National Highway 28, which remain blocked for more than two hours.

According to the on-lookers, the truck smashed into a car which was being searched by the police team. The car flew in the air and fell 40 feet away. Then the truck crushed the policemen present there.

The truck driver and the cleaner of fled the crime scene soon after the accident. 

“Five police officials died on the spot after a speeding container truck crushed them and four injured including Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Murari Prasad and Panapur outpost incharge Dhurvanath Jha,” a police official said.

The police team led by Prasad was on a search operation following information that a big consignment of liquor was on way.
