In a major crackdown on drug menace in Uttarakhand, police on Monday arrested two Indian Army Jawans and one other person with heroin worth more than Rs. 5 crore.

The security agencies are questioning the accused. Further investigation in the matter by the police is also underway.

In the first week if August, 2 men were in Haldwani and heroin worth Rs 2 crore were recovered from them. Working on a tip off, the police arrested them at a check post near Haldwani.

Police officials are closely monitoring the channels from where the inflow of drugs takes place in the state.
