An important day for Indian Railways to take it to the next level as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese PM Shinzo Abe on Thursday laid the foundation stone for India’s most ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Bullet Train project today.

The project will cost around Rs 1 lakh and eight thousand crore (Rs 1,08,000 cr) and is expected to be completed by 2022.

Once functional, it will reduce the travel time bewteen Mumbai-Ahmedabad to two hours compared to the existing 6-7 hours.

Bullet Train circuit will be having 9 stations and will also run around 21-KM inside the sea.

Speaking on this mega railway project, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, “This will be a historical moment as India will gets it first bullet train. An occasion to celebrate the advent of the most modern technology in India. It shall also benefit the farmers for transportation of agricultural produce in a fast mode.”
