Following External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s address in United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) where she talked about IIMs and IITs in India, Congress vice-president while hitting a political shot at the BJP-led government ‘thanked’ the Foreign Minister for acknowledging and ‘recognising’ Congress government great vision and legacy of setting up these institutions.
Rahul Gandhi on Sunday took to his Twitter account and said, “Sushma ji, thank you for finally recognising Congress governments’ great vision and legacy of setting up IITs and IIMs.”
Earlier on Saturday, Sushma Swaraj while addressing the UN General Assembly, had hit out at Pakistan and its continuous support to terror activities.
Sushma Swaraj said that India has given to its people institutions like IITs, IIMs and AIIMS, while Pakistan had created terror organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), Haqqani Network and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).
Indicating Pakistan’s role for sponsoring and harbouring terrorism, Sushma Swaraj said, “India produced scholars, doctors, engineers. What have you (Pakistan) produced? You have produced terrorists.”

“Doctors save people from death, terrorists send them to deaths,” Swaraj added.
The External Affairs Minister also stressed upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s economic empowerment approach to eradicate poverty. Swaraj said, “We are turning them from job-seekers into job-providers.”
Acknowledging Sushma Swaraj’s message at the UNGA, PM Modi said that it was a strong message given by her on the dangers of terrorism and why we have to unite and fight this menace.
PM Modi also said that EAM’s message was insightful in identifying global challenges and strongly reiterated India’s commitment to create a better planet.
Earlier, while responding to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who accused India of committing war crimes in Kashmir and exporting terror to Pakistan during his speech in UNGA, Eenam Gambhir, first secretary with India’s permanent mission to the UN shown the mirror to Pakistan and said that the state which protected Osama Bin Laden and sheltered Mullah Omar has guts to play the victim card.
Once again blaming Pakistan for sponsoring and harbouring terrorists, India in its angry response to Pakistan’s PM speech called Pakistan a ‘Terroristan’.
