In another case of crime against women, a class 10 girl on Sunday committed suicide after allegedly being stalked by a youth. The incident took in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. Following the incident, the police has begun its investigation.

According to reports, the accused wanted to do friendship with the girl and used to stalk on her way to school. In order to be able to talk to her, the accused tried to gave her a phone but the girl returned it. After the family got to know about the incident, they tried to approach the boy’s family to explain them not to indulge in such practice.

Victim’s father while speaking to media said that the accused used to regularly stalk her daughter on her way to school.

“He threatened to kill her when she refused to take mobile phone from him,” the father said.

It is expected that fearing the social burden of the society, the girl committed suicide.

While the investigation in the case is underway, victim’s body has been sent for postmortem.

Sambhal incident is not the first case when a girl has been tortured to take such a step. Previously, a class 11 student committed suicide who was reportedly being stalked by her neighbours in Noida.

Earlier in the day, a student of Sonipat school was allegedly gang-raped by two members of school staff. The victim approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a letter seeking justice for her.

Speaking on the incident, DSP Sonipat Mukesh Jakhad said that the girl had mentioned two names, one is Karamveer and the other one is Sukhveer, who are the employees of a public school in Sonipat. DSP also mentioned that the victim said she had complaint about this to the school principal and director but she hasn’t.

The DSP also informed that there is a committee which has been set up in sexual harassment case and further investigation was underway.
