Honeypreet Insan, who is on the run following conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim Singh in two rape cases, has sought transit anticipatory bail from Delhi High Court on Monday. The matter will be heard in the court at 2 PM on Tuesday.

Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja is adopted daughter of Dera chief and is ‘wanted’ by Haryana Police for inciting the violence following Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction by special CBI court in Panchkula.

Earlier, a lookout notice was issued against Honeypreet by the police. The police is on her trail for nearly a month and raids have been conducted in Nepal, Rajasthan, Bihar and Haryana.

Meanwhile, police has also conducted raids in  National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday to look out for Honeypreet and Aditya Insan, close aides of jailed Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

The move comes following Panchkula court’s issuance of arrest warrants against Honeypreet, Aditya Insan and Pawan Insan and Monday.

All three had been booked by Haryana police on charges of sedition, provoking violence and being involved in the conspiracy to help Singh escape after his conviction. An international alert has also been sounded against all three by the Haryana Police.

Last week, Honeypreet’s former husband, Vishwas Gupta had alleged that Honeypreet had illicit relations with Ram Rahim Singh. He also said their father-daughter relationship was a sham to fool followers.

The CBI court in August had sentenced Ram Rahim to 20 years in prison for raping two of his disciples in 2002. The verdict had led to widespread violence in Haryana leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured. Isolated incidents of violence also took place in adjoining state of Punjab and national capital Delhi.
