Honeypreet Insan, who has been on a run since Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction in two rape cases, might actually be hiding in Delhi. NewsX has accessed a crucial video evidence in the case. The CCTV footage shows a woman clad in burqa walking with Honeypreet’s lawyer in south Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar.

The Delhi HC is set to hear an anticipatory bail plea moved by Honeypreet Insaan’s lawyer on Tuesday. In the plea, Honeypreet has said that her adoptive father Ram Rahim Singh has been falsely implicated in the case. The plea has also alleged that Honeypreet is facing threat to life from drug mafias in Punjab and adjoining Haryana.

The bail plea said that she would lend her full co-operation and sought three weeks’ transit bail.

Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja is adopted daughter of Dera chief and is ‘wanted’ by Haryana Police for inciting the violence following Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction by special CBI court in Panchkula.

Earlier, a lookout notice was issued against Honeypreet by the police. The police is on her trail for nearly a month and raids have been conducted in Nepal, Rajasthan, Bihar and Haryana. Police has said that any person giving any information leading to the arrest of the accused in connection with the incidents of violence in Panchkula on August 25 will be suitably rewarded and their identity kept secret.

The CBI court in August had sentenced Ram Rahim to 20 years in prison for raping two of his disciples in 2002. The verdict had led to widespread violence in Haryana leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured. Isolated incidents of violence also took place in adjoining state of Punjab and national capital Delhi.
