In a shocking incident being reported from Bikaner district in Rajasthan, a 28-year-old Delhi woman was allegedly gangraped by 23 men. In her complaint, the victim stated that she had gone to check on a plot that she owns in Ridmalsar Purohitan on September 25. While she was waiting for a transport to head back, she was abducted from a road on the outskirts of Bikaner in the middle of the day, the complaint added.

The woman stated that she was abducted by two men — Raju and Shubhansh — near Khatu Shyam Mandir on the Jaipur Road at 2:30PM.

According to reports, she said that she was taken to Palana village by the accused and later raped. She further claimed that after the two raped her, they called in more people to join in.

In the complaint filed, the victim — resident of Delhi’s New Friend’s Colony — has alleged that she was taken to a government power sub-station in Palana village where more men allegedly assaulted her.

According to the FIR filed, the victim was left at the same spot where she was picked from at around 4AM on September 26. Commenting on the matter a Rajasthan police official said that the police have registered a case against 2 known and 21 unknown suspects in the matter.

While speaking to a leading daily, circle officer of Sadar, Rajendra Singh, said that they recovered condoms from the spots the woman had identified in her complaint. He further added that the victim has recorded her statement before a magistrate under section 164 of the CrPC and repeated what she wrote in the FIR.

The officials added that the victim’s medical examination is complete and the medical report is awaited. He also said that 5 people have been detained in the case, but no arrests have been made yet.
