New Delhi: The CBI on Tuesday registered, on the directions of the Allahabad High Court, two cases against former chief engineer of the Noida authority Yadav Singh on the charges of corruption and irregularities.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also conducted searches at 14 places – 12 in Noida and Greater Noida and one each in Agra and Firozabad cities in Uttar Pradesh.
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on July 16 ordered a CBI probe into charges of corruption and irregularities against Singh.
The Uttar Pradesh government suspended Yadav Singh in the wake of an income tax raid at his residence last year that unearthed crores of rupees in cash and jewellery.
