The Allahabad High Court announced its verdict in the Aarushi Talwar 2008 Noida double murder case on Thursday, October 12. The landmark verdict said that the parents of Aarushi Talwar, who were the prime suspects of the murder, had to be acquitted as there was no substantial evidence which pointed tyo their being guilty. Moreover, the Allahabad High Court also said that there were numerous loopholes in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submissions to the court which weakened the case further. The verdict has also opened a new debate with many people slamming the role of the investigative agency in the failure to nab the culprit.

In the year, 2013 Aarushi’s parents Nupur Talwar and Rajesh Talwar, were convicted and were sentenced to life by a special CBI Court. The Court had held Aarushi’s parents for the gruesome killings of their daughter and their domestic help, Hemraj.
Later, an appeal was filed by Rajesh and Nupur Talwar in the High Court. The High Court had also decided to hear the appeals afresh due to contradictions in some submissions made by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and had resumed the hearing in August. A bench comprising of Justice BK Narayana and Justice AK Mishra had reserved its verdict for the case.
