After a 7-year-old boy from Gurugram’s Ryan International School was allegedly murdered, reports of a 6-year-old girl being raped in a south Delhi school by a male staff has surfaced. The victim, who is a student of class 1, studies in a school run by Nirankari Trust. The matter was highlighted, after the 6-year-old victim narrated the ordeal to her mother.

Once again, the incident has raised concerns of safety of children in schools. After listening to the ordeal by her daughter, the mother rushed to the police and filed a complaint. Further commenting on the incident, the victim’s father said that girl had gone to the washroom and asked for women’s help; however a male employee entered and assaulted her.

The parents further questioned the school authorities stating that the women who should had been there as a part of duty, was nowhere near to be found. Speaking to a local the parents claimed, “We are in shock. We send our kids to get educated and not to be victims of such perverts loitering in schools.”

According to reports, doctors said that the victim will have to undergo a surgery to treat her internal wounds.

Commenting on the matter, a police official said that the child was rushed to AIIMS where doctors confirmed rape. A case of rape has been registered under several sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

Previously on September 8, 7-year-old Pradyuman was found dead inside the toilet of the Ryan International School, Gurugram, with his throat slit. Following the incident, school’s bus conductor was arrested, but the case took a complicated turn after family of the accused claimed that he was being wrongly framed and that the school authorities were trying to mislead.
