Slammed for catering poor service to the passengers, an Air India flight flight made passengers to wait for around 7 hours at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. According to reports, over 250 passengers were left stranded at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport after a Mumbai-Ahmedabad Air India flight delayed for over seven hours on late Friday night. Frustrated passengers who were waiting for their flight to take-off raised protest against Air India after waiting for hours. Passengers raised protest and alleged they were made to wait for hours with no facilities given like food or accommodation.

According to reports, so far no Air India official has spoken about why passengers had to wait for seven hours for their flight to take off. Was there any technical glitch with the aircraft or some other problem, is still not clear. Passengers waiting were not provided with food or water during the late night wait following which they protested against Air India at exit gate number 47. Going by reports, following agitation by passengers at the airport, Air India officials informed that the aircraft which was scheduled to fly passengers to Ahmedabad was a Dreamliner which required a specially-trained pilot who was not present. However, all the passengers who had to wait for the entire night at the Mumbai airport did fly to Ahmedabad around 8:30AM on Saturday morning.

In the past, there have been several cases when passengers were left stranded at the airport and had to wait for hours to board their flight. In another incident when passengers time was compromised, an Air India pilot landed the flight at Jaipur airport with 48 passengers on-board left stranded. The reason was that Pilot’s shift had got over. It was a Delhi bound flight from Lucknow via Jaipur. First the flight got late for hours and when it arrived at Jaipur airport, passengers were left stranded by the pilot. The flight was scheduled to arrive at Jaipur airport at 9 pm but it was delayed and reached around late midnight. It couldn’t take-off for Delhi due to smog at the capital and other technical issues at Delhi airport till 2AM.
