Coronavirus update: The total number of coronavirus cases in India is at 39, 980 with the toll at 1301 as per the latest data shared by the ministry of health and family welfare. The total number of active cases in India is now at 28, 046 with 10632 recovered after fighting a battle with coronavirus. Maharashtra remains the worst affected state by recording a total of 12296 cases with 2000 recovered and 521 deaths. Followed by Gujarat with 5054 cases and 262 deaths and the capital has recorded a total of 4122 cases with 64 deaths. Madhya Pradesh has a total of 2846 cases with 151 deaths and Rajasthan with 2770 cases.

A total of 2,644 new cases are registered in the last 24 hours with 83 deaths. India has conducted more than one million RT-PCR tests for coronavirus according to the Indian Council of Medical Research. The facility is available in 97 private and 292 government hospitals in the country. According to reports, the total number of coronavirus cases has crossed 34 lakh globally with the United States alone reporting a total of 11 lakh cases. The toll has crossed 2.43 lakh worldwide with the US reporting 66,000 deaths.

According to data shared by the health ministry, Bengal has reported a total of 127 cases, Uttar Pradesh has recorded 32 new coronavirus cases, 790 fresh cases from Maharastra, Delhi has recorded fresh 383 cases and Tamil Nadu with 231 new cases in the last 24 hours.

Considering the extension of lockdown for two more weeks, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a circular on Saturday suspending all domestic and international commercial flights till May 17. Further, India’s recovery rate stood at 26.59 percent this morning.
