The senior members of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, including NCP head Sharad Pawar, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, minister Aaditya Thackeray, and Sena MP Sanjay Raut, will be held accountable if any harm is done to the family members of the legislators, according to a rebel Shiv Sena MLA.

Eknath Shinde, a rebel MLA, claimed on Saturday that the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi administration had revoked the security protection given to his family and the families of the other MLAs who were camping with him in Guwahati.

In the letter sent to Thackeray, Dilip Walse Patil, Rajnish Seth, the director general of police (DGP), and all the police commissioners, Shinde accused them of intentionally denying security to the MLAs’ families.

“Despite the fact that we are currently serving as MLAs, as a form of retaliation, the security provided to us at home and to family members as per procedure has been illegally and unlawfully removed. Without needing to say it, this treacherous action is another attempt to weaken our determination and force us to comply with the demands of the MVA government, which is made up of gangsters from the NCP and INC, Shinde wrote in the letter.

The renegade MLA also claimed that the MVA alliance’s founding parties were encouraging its followers to use violence against the lawmakers. He issued a warning that prominent Maha Vikas Aghadi figures like NCP leader Sharad Pawar, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray, and Sena MP Sanjay Raut would be held accountable if any damage were to befall the family members of the lawmakers.

The Maharashtra government, however, denied making such an order. “The removal of security for any MLA has not been ordered by the Chief Minister or the Home Department. Dilip Walse Patil, the home minister for Maharashtra, claimed that the accusations made on Twitter were untrue and without merit.
