With Uddhav Thackeray resigning as the CM of Maha, a new government with the NDA alliance with Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister is all set to form in the state. As Eknath Shinde, former Minister of Urban Development and senior Shiv Sena leader, with 46 other rebel MLAs joins NDA, the question arises as to what’s in it for Shinde and his camp?
It is reported that Eknath Shinde has been offered the post of Deputy Chief Minister if BJP comes to power. While it remains uncertain, if rebel MLAs are gonna join BJP, form their own party or stake claim on the Shiv Sena.
Rebel MLAs have no standing alone. They are left with two choices in view of the current scenario. Either join BJP or suffer the consequences of rebelling against the Thackerays.
Though if the Shinde camp makes claim on the Bal Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, the Uddhav camp may end up losing their right to the party symbol; bow and arrow.
With all things said and done, Maharashtra is seeing severe turbulence in its political arena. Fadnavis may become the next CM, rebel MLAs may go through the bypolls if they don’t find support and Thackerays may end up losing their legacy. The situation remains uncertain.
