In the midst of Maharashtra’s ongoing political turmoil, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray stated on Friday that he had “suspected” the revolt and disclosed that Eknath Shinde, who turned rebel, had broached the topic of MLAs eager to join the BJP in front of him.

Chief Minister stated, virtually addressing Shiv Sena corporators, “When I anticipated something like this a few days ago, I phoned Eknath Shinde and instructed him to fulfill his job of leading Shiv Sena forward, since doing so is wrong. He informed me that the NCP-Congress was attempting to demolish us and that MLAs wanted us to join the BJP. I urged him to bring any MLAs who wanted it to me.”

“The BJP, which defamed our party and my family, is the one you’re considering joining. Such a question never arises. If MLAs wish to go there, they can all go. I won’t. If anyone wants to go, whether an MLA or not, come and inform us and then go,” Thackeray said.

He has asked his party’s leaders to tell him if he is “useless and incapable” of running the party and has stated that he will leave the party.

“Tell me if you believe I’m incompetent and incapable of leading the party. You may inform me when I’m ready to leave the party. You’ve always respected me because Balasaheb said so. If you think I am incompetent, I am willing to leave the party right now “he added.

Thackeray praised Congress and the NCP for their support but said that his “own people” had “backstabbed” him.

“Today, the Congress and the NCP are backing us, as are Sharad Pawar and Sonia Gandhi. However, our own people have betrayed us. We supplied tickets to folks who had no chance of winning and made them winners. Those individuals have betrayed us today “he remarked.

Following his presentation to Shiv Sena district chiefs on Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has convened a meeting of the party’s national executive committee for tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The meeting will take place in Shiv Sena Bhavan, and the Chief Minister will attend digitally.

Earlier today, Thackeray virtually held a conference of district leaders, claiming that the renegade MLAs camped up in Guwahati intended to “destroy the party.”

Targeting Shinde, Thackeray stated that despite doing everything for the rebel commander, a slew of charges had been leveled against him.

Notably, the Chief Minister left his official house on Wednesday night and relocated to his family mansion, ‘Matoshree,’ with his family.
