During a public hearing in Nagaon’s Bor Lalung neighbourhood on Saturday, a man is said to have been burned alive.
“We learned that a man was executed after being found guilty of murder in a public court; his corpse was afterwards buried. The dead corpse has been located. Several persons were arrested, “said M Das, deputy superintendent of police.
According to the authorities, the dead has been identified as Bor Lalung Gaon resident Ranjit Bordoloi.
Authorities further stated that the man was reportedly burned for the purported murder of a lady nearby.
The corpse was removed from the ground under the magistrate’s supervision, and 90 percent of it was found to have burned, according to the police.
