A software engineer in Bengaluru committed suicide by immolating self after her was cheated by a private tutorial owner. According to reports, the 35-year-old deceased was allegedly duped by a tutorial owner who had promised to get a seat for Ritesh Kumar (the deceased’s) child. The tutorial owner allegedly charged Rs 2.5 lakh for the seat in an upmarket school in the city. The owner of the tutorial filed to ensure a seat for the child and did not even refund the full amount. The owner however returned Rs 1.25 lakh to Ritesh Kumar.
Ritesh Kumar was the resident of LBS Nagar in Bengaluru. He worked at a private firm in Marathahalli, he came in contact with owner of the Aditya Tutorials in JP Nagar. The deceased met the owner of the tutorial firm on Thursday and asked him to return the money. In a bid to threaten the owner, Ritesh Kumar doused himself with petrol, to allegedly threaten Bajaj but then things went out of hands and Kumar was on fire, which claimed his life.
Kumar was immediately rushed to Victoria Hospital where he was declared critical, later he succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The owner of the tutorial firm also sustained burn injuries in a bid to save Kumar. He is also undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Police have registered a case against the owner of the tutorial firm. He has been booked under abetment to suicide and cheating. Police are also trying to find whether the accused has cheated other parents also on the same pretext or not.
