Lok Sabha will on Friday, July 20, debate the no-confidence motion, which was moved by the Congress, and TDP. The Opposition is likely going to challenge the ruling dispensation over innumerable issues such mob lynching, Jammu and Kashmir, farmers’ nemesis. On Thursday, BJP said it is confident of defeating the no-confidence motion, several regional parties which will decide the formers’ fate are AIADMK, BJD and TRS, which have 37, 19 and 11 MPs respectively.

Congress has claimed that they will use this occasion to expose the Central government over its many failures. Here’s the time allotted to each party for the debate in Lok Sabha: BJP: 3 hours and 33 minutes, Congress: 38 minutes, AIADMK: 29 minutes, Trinamool Congress: 27 minutes, Biju Janata Dal: 15 minutes, Shiv Sena: 14 minutes, Telugu Desam Party: 13 minutes, Telangana Rashtra Samithi: 9 minutes, CPI(M): 7 minutes, SP: 6 minutes, NCP: 6 minutes, LJSP: 5 minutes

11:50 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked everyone who supported the government and defeated no-confidence motion. PM Modi also said that his government has the confidence of Lok Sabha and 125 crore people of the country.

11:30 pm: PM Modi-led NDA government defeats no-confidence motion moved by TDP, Congres and other opposition parties. The government received 325 votes in its favours while those who moved no-confidence got the support of 125 votes.

10:50 pm: PM Modi invoked Sonia Gandhi’s statement on a no-confidence motion against his NDA government and said that somebody had earlier said that they had the numbers.

9:30 pm: PM Modi in a point-by-point rebuttal to Rahul Gandhi’s speech spoke on the issue of  GST, Demonetisation, Doklam issue, Rafale deal and other issues. He indirectly hit out at Rahul Gandhi’s eye winking action in the parliament and said that the entire nation watched what eyes did today.  

9:15 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks in the Parliament during the no-confidence debate against his government. 

5:10 pm: “Don’t know where they want to take the country when the opposition talks about Hindu Pakistan and Hindu Taliban,” said Rajnath Singh.

4:47 pm: Invoking 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Rajnath Singh said that they know the pain of Sikh community when they talk to them. The BJP government has formed the SIT and their government will give justice to the community.  

4:40 pm: Speaking during the no-confidence debate in Parliament’s monsoon session, Home Minister Rajnath Singh hit out at the opposition and said that if democracy was ever murdered in the country then it was done in 1975 when emergency was imposed.   

2: 10 pm While speaking, Rahul Gandhi walks toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hugs me. 

1: 20 pm Rahul Gandhi says PM said I am the guard of the country, but when Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah was involved in a corruption case, PM dodged away from the issue.

1: 13 pm He takes a jibe at BJP saying, the latter urges to sell pakoras to transcend employment. He threw another barb at on Modi’s economic policy, demonetisation.

1:07 pm Rakesh Singh concludes his address, Congress president Rahul Gandhi comes to address on the no-confidence motion. He starts by stressing on farmers, Dalits, women. 

12:50 Rakesh Singh points out several policies of the Modi government, “Under the reign of Prime Minister Modi, cleanliness is getting a new aspect. Earlier, everybody shied away from swacchta, but now it is a part of their lives.”

12: 42 pm Meanwhile, another breakthrough came by AIADMK Parliamentarian V Maitreyan, who said there was no doubt about backing the no-confidence motion. Earlier, it was said AIADMK will not support the no-confidence motion as TDP did not support us while during the Cauvery Water Board dispute. 

12:25 pm After Galla, Madhya Pradesh BJP chief Rakesh Singh in his address says Congres has only been indulged in scams whereas, the BJP has focused on schemes in its 4 years of rule

12:06 pm Galla concludes by saying, “We are not asking them to deposit Rs 15 lakh in every Andhra resident’s bank account. We are only asking for our rights.”

11:40 am Galla says PM through his Finance Minister declared there will no special status for Andhra Pradesh, the demand is baseless and will be demanded by other states as well. The finance minister should know the difference between Andhra Pradesh and other states.

11:35 am Meanwhile, in a major breakthrough, BJP’s ally, Shiv Sena said it will not attend the no-confidence motion debate against the ruling government. And Naveen Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal walked out of the Parliament House blaming the ruling dispensation has always neglected Odisha

11: 30 am In his speech, Galla says. “Despite growing at the fastest pace among southern states, the gap in per capita income is clearly visible and if this continues it will only widen, according to reports.”

11:18 am Telugu Desam Party MP Jayadev Galla, begins the discussion. He thanks Srinivas for giving him the chance to speak against the ruling government, Stressing on the demand of special status for Andhra Pradesh, Galla says it is not a national issue, it is an emotional issue.  Adding to that he says, “We need relief but instead of providing relief the Modi regime is creating more problems for us.”

11:08 am: Congress leader Kharge akes Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan says it is a very crucial motion, and we should not restrict it by the limited times.

10:51 am BJP ally Shiv Sena is currently engaged in a meeting with their chief Uddhav Thackeray wherein they will decide if they will vote in the no-confidence motion. Amit Desai, Arvind Sawant, Anant Geete and other MPs are present in the Parliament House.

10:37 am The no-confidence is set to begin in 30 minutes from now and MPs have started arriving at the Parliament HouseNDA leaders who will speak at the no-confidence motion debate are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Madhya Pradesh BJP leader Rakesh Singh and Kisan Morcha chief Virendra Singh, Meenakshi Lekhi, Akali Dal’s Harsimrat Kaur and LJP’s Ram Vilas Paswan.
