Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to cricket Shikher Dhawan’s emotional video on the micro-blogging site Twitter and wished him fast recovery on Thursday. Prime Minister said that there is no doubt the pitch is going to miss the Indian opener and hope he recovers at the earliest so that he make a come back on the field and contribute to India’s more victories.
Indian opener and the left-handed batsman was ruled out of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after he suffered a thumb injury during match against Australia. He was hit by Pat Cummins’ pacy delivery. After consulting doctors and physiotherapists, Dhawan has been advised to rest for next 3 weeks.
Shikhar Dhawan who open innings with Rohit Sharma and have won many matches for the side with his great batting calliber will stay in England and team management will keep an eye on his recovery.
Reports say Dhawan could be ruled out from the tournament as his injury is serious. He has been going through medical tests like xrays and other important examinations and is in constant touch with doctors and physio.
In Shikhar Dhawan’s absence, Kings Xi Punjab’s star player and opener KL Rahul will open the innings for Team India alomg with Rohit Sharma. KL Rahul is known for his explosive batting style and had displayed a brilliant show during the Indian Premier League 2019.
Team India is scheduled to play their next match againt the arch- rivals Pakistan at the Manchester and Shikhar Dhawan will miss the high-voltage game, reports said.
