The BJP questioned AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday about why he was hiding his minister Satyendar Jain, who was held in ED jail in connection with a money laundering case, and allowed him to stay in the cabinet.

Smriti Irani asked Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP a series of questions, including, “Was it not true that the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax indicated that Satendar Jain was the real owner of Rs 16.39 crore dirty money?”

The minister also said that Jain benefited from the ownership of 200 bighas of land in various parts of Delhi.

Satyendar Jain was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday in connection with a money laundering case by a CBI court. The ED had arrested Jain the day before in a money laundering case based on a CBI First Information Report (FIR) filed against the AAP leader under the Prevention of Corruption Act in 2017. Jain was accused of laundering money through four companies that he allegedly controlled.
