Sushant Singh Rajput death case LIVE news updates, SSR suicide case latest updates: Actor Sushant Singh Rajput case is getting murkier with each passing day. After 2 months of investigation by Mumbai police and stepping in of Bihar police followed by a courtroom drama, the probe has finally been shifted to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A team of CBI is currently in Mumbai and acting upon an FIR filed by Sushant’s father KK Singh, which puts the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her family, Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi under a scanner. Some of the charges pressed against Rhea include abetment of suicide, theft and criminal conspiracy among others.

ED is investigating the matter separately to look into the money laundering matter. Sushant’s family has alleged that about Rs 15 crore were taken out of SSR’s bank account in one year and these expenses may have a connection with Rhea. So far, ED has taken the statements of Rhea, her family, Shruti Modi and Sushant’s sisters Meetu and Priyanka.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has triggered a global movement called #JusticeForSSR. The movement has found a strong backing in his sister Shweta, ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande, Kangana Ranaut and many other celebrities. The actor’s demise has also led to host of debates on insider’s vs outsider’s date, nepotism, privilege and mental health, which has expanded the scope and impact of the incident.

Judicial custody of Rhea, brother Showik, and others extended till Oct 20 in drug case

A special court in Mumbai on Tuesday extended till October 20 the judicial custody of actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others in connection with a drug case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. According to officials, as many as 14 persons arrested in the case were produced before the special court here through video conferencing for the grant of judicial custody.

Not surprised by AIIMS report: Mumbai Police Commissioner

Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has reacted to AIIMS forensic board's findings in Sushant Singh Rajput case. Speaking to ANI, Parambir Singh said that he is not at all surprised by the AIIMS report as the Cooper Hospital and Mumbai team too had found the same. Shiv Sena seeks apology after AIIMS report

A day after AIIMS refuted the murder theory, Shiv Sena has sought apology from politicians and media for "maligning" the image of Mumbai Police and Maharashtra. Raising serious allegations against SSR, Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece Saamna said that Sushant's 'ganja' and 'charas' episode came to light in the first 24 hours of CBI taking over. AIIMS report rules out murder theory

Dr Sudhir Gupta, who was leading AIIMS forensic panel in Sushant Singh Rajput case, has reportedly ruled out the murder theory. He has said that Sushant's death is a case of suicide and murder is completely ruled out.

As per NewsX sources, the AIIMS report has opened up the investigation and will be used in second led of investigation. The possibility of murder has not been ruled out and certainly nobody can be given a clean chit at this stage. CBI is slated to begin second leg of investigation soon in Mumbai.

No organic poisoning found in Sushant's body, says AIIMS

The AIIMS report has not given any clean chit. This includes that AIIMS findings are not in contrary with CBI probe. In the report submitted by AIIMS, it has been mentioned that no organic poisoning was found in Sushant's body. However, the CBI is still tightlipped about “conclusive findings” of AIIMS and maintains that findings are in the form of opinion. Thus, No angle has been ruled out. CBI will continue its investigation based on this report.

AIIMS findings not in contrary with CBI probe

NewsX has accessed the findings by AIIMS's forensic department. As per the report submitted by AIIMS team to CBI, no organic poison was found in Sushant Singh Rajput's body. The DNA sample collected by State Forensic Science Lab matched with Sushant. However, the report of Cooper Hospital needs to be analysed further as the timing of death wasn't mentioned.
Moreover, the light of the mortuary room wasn't sufficient as per the desired norms. Now, the CBI team is expected to leave for Mumbai soon to complete its findings and will continue investigation on IPC 306 PROB (abetment to suicide).

CBI issues statement, says conducting professional investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday has said it is conducting a professional investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput case and looking into all possible aspects. The statement issued by CBI added that no aspect has been ruled out as of date as the investigation is continuing.
