External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has always been in the headlines not only for being Twitter active but also for always stepping up in aiding people who seek help. Recently, Sushma Swaraj has offered help to a Russian national. The youth was forced to beg at the entrance of Sri Kumarakottam Temple in Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu after his ATM PIN got locked. The Russian national has been identified as 24-year-old Evangelin.

According to reports, Evangelin, had landed in India on September 24. Just like any other tourist he was visiting Kancheepuram from Chennai and a few famous temples. While he was staying at Kancheepuram, he went to an ATM to withdraw some cash and found his ATM PIN locked. According to reports, Evangelin has a valid passport and visa. He had gone to an ATM kiosk near the Kumarakottam temple on West Raja Street on Tuesday morning.

After being disappointed and short of cash, Evangelin then decided to beg for alms at the entrance of the temple. Later, when the matter was reported, Siva Kanchi police reached the temple and brought him to the station. After a primary investigation, the police officials found him to be a genuine person and gave him some cash to travel around.

After the matter was highlighted, Sushma Swaraj took to her Twitter handle and said that Russia is India’s time-tested friend. She further assured that the officials in Chennai will provide him all the assistance.

Well, it is not the first time that Sushma Swaraj has helped someone in need. Just a few moments before she had assured help to the Russian national, she also extended a helping hand to a woman from Pakistan, who had been trying to visit India for an open heart surgery of her 1-year-old daughter. Extending help to the mother, Sushma Swaraj said, “We are giving visa for the open heart surgery of your one-year-old daughter Shireen Shiraz in India”.
