The Vande Bharat Express or the Train 18 is set to run between Delhi and Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will show the green flag to The Train 18 on Friday, February 15, 2019. According to the reports, the Train 18 will have two classes of sitting, chair car and the executive class, and will have differently priced meals. The passengers travelling from Delhi to Varanasi will have to pay around Rs 1,850 for the Chair Car and Rs 3,520 for a seat in the executive class, which will include the catering service charges also.
On the round trip, the passengers will get a marginal discount as the chair car ticket will cost approx Rs 1,795 and the executive car ticket will cost Rs 3,470, reports. The commuters travelling from New Delhi to Varanasi in the executive class will have to pay extra Rs 399 for the morning tea, breakfast and lunch. While in the chair car travellers need to pay Rs 344 extra. The price of the ticket and catering services varies from place to place.
The Train 18 runs up to the speed of 180 Km/hr and would be contesting against the Shatabdi Express. Although the authorities have sanctioned the speed of 130 Km/hr for the Delhi to Varanasi route. The high-speed train will take around 8 hours to travel between New Delhi and Varanasi and will have only 2 stops, Kanpur and Prayag Raj (earlier known as Allahabad).
The Train 18 is a dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is being built under the Make In India campaign.
