Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s small human error had people rippling with laughter when he accidentally entered a ladies’ toilet in Gujarat’s Chhota Udepur district. Gandhi, who was in the district to interact with young people, entered ladies’ washroom by mistake after the event as there was no sign to indicate that it was meant for women. Congress VP quickly realised his mistake and stepped out of the loo, but the damage had been done as people standing outside burst into laughter.

The entire scene was recorded by media persons who were gathered there. According to the sources, Rahul Gandhi accidentally entered the toilet after he failed to read the Gujarati poster saying ‘Mahilao Mate Shauchalya’. As mentioned above, there was no sign to indicate that the toilet was meant for women and Rahul Gandhi is not well versed with the Gujarati language. Following the incident, SPG accompanying the Congress VP dispersed the media persons and locals who were laughing after witnessing the scene.

Rahul Gandhi who was in Gujarat on a three-day visit as part of second phase of pre election campaigning, wrapped it up on Wednesday. During the visit, he launched several attacks on BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over several burning issues like demonetisation, development, unemployment and GST. He had also lashed out at Modi govt for BJP president Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah’s business dealings. “How much money did you get in your homes out of so called Gujarat model of development?” Rahul Gandhi had asked people in Vadodra.

His meetings drew large number of people, boosting the morale of Congress party. Congress has been out of power in the state for a long time now and hopes to do well in upcoming elections. Gandhi will be visiting Gujarat after Diwali again for third phase of Navsarjan Yatra.
