Speaking her heart out for the first time on Friday, after being acquitted by the Allahabad High Court, Nupur Talwar said that the first thing that she would be doing after getting out of the jail is that she will try and find out her daughter Aarushi Talwar’s murderer. Pushpa Sharma (ASI), who shared the first word with Nupur Talwar after her acquittal, says that Nupur had been emotional since morning. Sharma also added that Nupur had claimed that she will find out Aarushi’s murderer after she leaves the Dasna jail.

After being imprisoned for over 4-years on the charges of their daughter’s murder, Nupur Talwar and Rajesh Talwar will be released from Ghaziabad’s Dasna Jail at around 4 PM today. Aarushi Talwar’s parents — Nupur and Rajesh — were acquitted by the Allahabad High Court in its verdict announced on October 12.

Commenting on the release of the Talwars, their defence lawyer, Tanveer A Mir, said that orders will be sent to the jail authorities. “I think release orders will be received by jail superintendent by afternoon & Talwars will be released by 4 PM,” he added. Meanwhile, Ghaziabad’s Dasna Jail’s jailor, D Maurya said that till they receive a notice, no proceedings can take place.

The 2008 Noida double murder of Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj had been in the headlines at times due to its sensational nature, sometimes over the lack of proper investigations by the UP Police or sometimes by the details of the horrific nature of the case. On May 16, 2008, 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar was found murdered in her bedroom with her throat slit with surgical precision. Initial investigation by the local police suggested that the murder was done by the house help Hemraj. However, the case made the headlines after the body of the initial suspect was found from the terrace of the same flat after 2 days.
