According to Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, the Maoist Center has opted to exit the government alliance

According to Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, the Maoist Center has opted to exit the government alliance. He referenced Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal who has declared that the “coalition has lost its relevance”.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda stormed out of the coalition meeting on Sunday, according to Paudel, who confirmed the Maoist Centre’s decision. Prachanda met with Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) head and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli after walking out of the ruling coalition conference, which was launched with the goal of reaching an agreement on government formation.

The Maoist Center’s press secretary confirmed Dahal’s exit, saying, “Agreement has not been reached.”

The ruling coalition conference concluded without a resolution as Dahal stepped out.

Leaders who were present at the prior meeting stated “The ruling coalition conference has come to an end. There has been no decision.”

Meanwhile, Maoist Centre General Secretary Dev Gurung cautioned the Nepali Congress that they would “walk out” of the coalition if the latter continued to insist on holding both the presidency and the prime ministership.
