New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal faced huge embarrassment on Monday when he tried to take a dig at Union Minister Mahesh Sharma demanding to know how the latter managed his daughter’s wedding in Rs 2.5 lakhs after the currency ban.
“BJP MP Mahesh Sharma’s daughter is getting married. Is the entire payment in cheque? Has he kept the wedding spending within 2.5 lakh rupees? How did he exchange his notes?” tweeted the Delhi CM.
Mr Kejriwal, however, failed to cross-check his facts as it turned out that it was wedding of BJP minister’s son and not daughter.
“First get your facts correct. It is my son’s wedding. Yes, the entire payment is being made through the bank,” Sharma shot back at Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal has been severely criticising Modi government’s move to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes citing problems faced by common man.
