As most of us were busy figuring out new rates applicable after the launch of Goods and Service Tax (GST) or congratulating each other on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US visit; President Donald Trump quietly took the baton and has ‘united’ the world.

Confirming the development, ‘Late Show’ host Stephen Colbert took the news to his popular show and congratulated Donald Trump on his ‘big’ achievement.

Colbert took everyone by surprise as he has been long advocating against President Trump and his policies including the travel ban and US pulling out of Parris climate treaty.

Presenting a report published in Pew Research Center poll, Colbert said that the global approval rating of US President was at 22 % now. “As great as it is to celebrate America, once in a while, I like to take a moment to remember there are countries that are not us, and they are not so hot on our President,” he said with his trademark smirk suggesting he was not done yet.

The 53-year-old went on to say that the president-elect had done the hard task of “uniting the planet”. “Mr President Congratulations, you’ve united the planet,” he said.

Citing the popularity report of Donald Trump, he said further, “Trump is unpopular in six continents. Yes, the only place they like him is Antarctica. But I tell you what though; do not tell those penguins about pulling out of the Paris accords.”

Taking a dig at increasing meddling of Russia in US affairs, the host said there is only one country where Trump’s popularity has seen a spike in from the time he took over White House.

“But there is one country where America’s reputation is on the rise. Wait for it! Russia, where confidence in the U.S. president surged to 53 % from 11 %. It explained Trump’s 2020 campaign slogan: ‘Trump 2020 I Can’t Read It, It’s In Russian,” said Colbert.

In a recent interview with a late-night talk show is Russia, Colbert joked about considering to run for US President post in the year 2020.

Don’t know about Donald Trump ‘uniting’ the world, but it seems a major portion of media in US is surely united against him.
