The GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), the CSR arm of the GMR Group, and its non-profit Family Business Institute (PFBI) have announced an online session titled “Inspiring Next Gen Talent” that will be held on November 29, 2022 (Tuesday) from 5:45 pm to 7:15 pm (IST). The ninth instalment of the online symposium series, “Essential Mantras for Family Business,” is now being held.
Along with participants from all over the world, this interactive online symposium will have:

The symposium’s primary goal is to motivate the next generation to help create a successful family company. Additionally, it addresses critical facets of governance and communication essential to building a successful business and a happy family.
Attendees will learn about the following:
• The engagement of the next generation in robust family governance
• Integration of emotional attachment which deals with emotions, and feelings while
creating a sense of belongingness that is crucial to creating an attachment to the family
vision
• The importance of storytelling which includes researching the history of their family and
business. This also includes allowing the next generation to feel that they are playing
their part in their family business legacy.
About the Speaker:
In North America, Latin America, and Europe, Mr. Guillermo Salazar serves as a counsellor to several multigenerational family-owned businesses in various sizes, generations, and industries. He is a specialist in family governance and legacy succession and a member of a family company. His advising work largely focuses on family charters, generational transition, the formation of sibling partnerships and cousin consortiums, and dispute resolution.
The Expert Moderator’s background:
At the Indian School of Business, Prof. Sougata Ray holds the Thomas Schmidheiny Chair, is a professor of strategy and entrepreneurship practise, and serves as the center’s executive director. He has assisted ambitious businesspeople, family businesses, and business organisations in developing development and business strategies that are sustainable.
