PM Modi Expresses Gratitude to US Govt for returning over 100 rare artifacts

PM Modi expressed his happiness on the return of these 105 trafficked artifacts to India and thanked the US, acknowledging the cultural and religious importance of these artifacts.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the United States government for repatriating over 100 rare and ancient artifacts back to India. Speaking during the 103rd episode of his monthly radio broadcast, ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ PM Modi highlighted the significance of these artifacts, ranging from 250 to 2500 years old and originating from various regions of India.
The Prime Minister thanked the US government for returning these items, which he stated testify to India’s proud heritage. PM Modi also mentioned that similar artifacts had been returned to India during his visits to the US in 2016 and 2021.

In a tweet, PM Modi expressed his happiness over the return of these 105 trafficked antiquities to India and thanked the US, acknowledging the immense cultural and religious importance of these precious artifacts. He viewed their homecoming as a testament to India’s commitment to preserving its heritage and rich history.
The Indian consulate in New York organized a repatriation ceremony for the 105 trafficked antiquities, following PM Modi’s maiden State visit to the US in June.

At the event, Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, expressed his gratitude to the US government, particularly Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and his Anti-Trafficking Unit, as well as the Homeland Security Investigation team, for their outstanding cooperation and support. He emphasized that these artifacts were not merely pieces of art but an integral part of India’s heritage and culture.
