- Calcutta HC pulls up Mamata government
Calcutta High Court has pulled up the Mamata government and stated that everyone has the right to profess their religion. On extension of immersion time for Durga Puja, the High Court has stated that the Mamata government can’t impose thoughts without any concrete fact. Calcutta High Court will now, pass their order tomorrow.
The state advocate had earlier submitted before the bench that the state had decided to extend timings till 10 pm instead of 6 pm.

Interim relief for EPS-OPS today as Madras High Court ordered stay floor test in Tamil Nadu assembly. The court hearing has been adjourned till 4th October. The HC said no floor test will take place till the court decides on further action.

- ‘Captain Cool’ nominated by BCCI for Padma Bhushan
BCCI has nominated former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the Padma Bhushan Award, which is the country’s third highest civilian award for his contribution to the game of cricket. The BCCI has only sent one name for the Padma Awards this year and it was a unanimous decision to nominate India’s most successful captain as the candidate for the Award.
- Honeypreet spotted in Nepal
As more skeletons tumble out of Ram Rahim’s Dera in Sirsa, sources tell us that Rahim’s adopted daughter Honeypreet was spotted in Nepal by the Nepalese police day before yesterday. There was also a convoy of 3 cars following her. Police said she had fled towards Pokhra, and police teams from Haryana and Nepal are now on a manhunt on the way to Pokhra. NewsX’s editor Shivpujan Jha is also on Honeypreet’s trail in Nepal. The Haryana police has even booked her for inciting violence in Panchkula on August 25.
Meanwhile shocking revelations have come to light as the Haryana police probe has revealed that 600 skeletons maybe buried in Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa. The police has spoken to dera doctor who told them that the skeletons are buried inside Dera.

Malayalam actor Dileep’s movie ‘Ramleela’ is set to hit theatres soon. Dileep is in jail for allegedly kidnapping & molesting an actress. His film Ramleela has been delayed for long but it has been confirmed that the movie will release next week. The actor had applied for bail in the Kerala High Court but it was rejected again. With charges of kidnapping & assault against him, many have expressed their disapproval on the film’s release.
Meanwhile the police will file a chargesheet in the molestation case on October 7 and it is likely that the police will seek life term for the actor.
