The state election is supposed to happen in less than a year. Rahul Gandhi held a crucial meeting with all the senior members of the state, urging them to stay united to dethrone the opposition. To stand victorious in the election, he also urged the leaders not to elucidate any internal matter on any sort of Public platform.

The party fears that there might be turmoil if the tussle for the Chief Minister’s post is not resolved between the former CM Siddaramaiah and the state president DK Shivakumar.

The political affairs committee of Karnataka Congress met on Tuesday and Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said, “The whole leadership of Karnataka will stand united, intentionally or unintentionally party leaders are making internal statements, and we need to refrain from doing so.”

Although, both the former CM and State President have sternly maintained that the new CM will be decided by the high command and newly elected MLAs upon gaining dominance in the election. But camp followers and loyalists are expressing their support for their respective leaders hence creating a ruckus.

The 75th birthday celebration of the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was attended by a huge crowd, which resulted in traffic logjams as long as 6km on the Pune – Bengaluru highway in the Davangere district where the birthday celebration was held. It is said to be the birthday celebration that will be carried out for the whole month, inciting controversies in the party over the CM post. Due to the large number of buses traveling, several northwesterly regions may see increased traffic disruptions.
