Patna: With Nitish Kumar ready to take oath as Chief Minister of Bihar for the third time, there is buzz in Patna that Tejashwi Yadav is in the running for Deputy Chief Minister.
Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Yadav’s son and political heir, seems all set to take on his new role.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) recently steered the Grand Alliance to a two-thirds majority in Patna. The single largest party in the new assembly believes that it deserves a major post in the cabinet.
Of the 178 seats that the Grand Alliance won, the RJD got 80, Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United got 71 and the Congress, 27.
Three of Lalu’s nine children, Misa Bharti, Tej Pratap and Tejashwi, a former cricketer, have entered politics. Lalu Yadav’s wife Rabri Devi too has been a chief minister of Bihar.
