Jaipur: One Border Security Force (BSF) trooper was killed on Friday while three others injured when a bomb exploded prematurely during an exercise in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, an official said.
The accident happened around 1.30 p.m. during an exercise being conducted in Kishangarh field firing range in Jaisalmer, about 650 km from here, BSF Deputy Inspector General Ravi Gandhi told IANS by phone.
“The injured have been brought to hospital in Jodhpur by an air force helicopter,” he said.
This is the second incident of a similar nature to have taken place at the same firing range. The 2012 incident left four jawans injured, but nobody was killed.
In a recent incident, two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and three jawans were reportedly injured in Koraput district of Odisha in a Maoist laid mine blast.
