Kolkata: BJP MP and singer Babul Supriyo today launched his album of love songs, written by Rabindranath Tagore, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
“Today is the day of love and I wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day with the launch of my album,” Supriyo said after the launch.
The album ‘Because I Love You’ has twelve songs like ‘Sokhi Boye Gelo Bela’, ‘Jodi Jantem’, ‘Amar Bela Je Jay’, ‘Tumi Kanoner Phool’, ‘Krishnakali Ami Tarei Boli’, etc.
Brought out by Asha Audio Company, the music of the album has been composed by Gautam Bose in a contemporary style.
This album is Supriyo’s fifth Rabindrasangeet album after the first one ‘Katobaro Bhebechhinu’ was launched in 2009.
“I have been singing Tagore songs from my childhood. Love songs always have a universal appeal and I personally enjoy singing such songs and so I have chosen love songs of Tagore this time,” the singer who is also the Union Minister of State for Urban Development said.
Before joining politics last year, the BJP MP from Asansol had sung several popular numbers in Bollywood including ‘Dil ne dil ko pukaara’ from the superhit film ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’.
