GOA: Eight coaches of Mumbai-Ernakulam Duronto Express derailed near south of Madgaon in Goa on Sunday morning, said reports.

According to the reports, the accident occurred at 6:15 am about 10 minutes after the train left the Madgaon station. No casualties have been reported so far. 

Accident relief medical van and relief trains have reached the site following the mishap and Konkan Railway officials have also rushed to the site for bringing relief and restoration, said Railway officials.

According to the Railway authorities, “Trains running on the route would be delayed and could be re-routed, while some trains could be cancelled today.”

Arrangements made by Konkan Railway:

Arrangements of Breakfast, Tea, Coffee, lunch and drinking water have been made for the passengers of train no. 12223 LTT-Ernakulam Duronto Express and they are being shifted to unaffected coaches of the same train. 

Full refund is being arranged by Konkan Railway for the passengers who would not like to continue their journey.
