A bus conductor has been arrested by Gurugram police for murdering a 7-year-old student who was found dead on September 8 morning inside a school toilet in Gurugram.  

The victim was found dead in school’s toilet with his throat slit. A knife was also found lying near his body. 

Briefing the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Simardeep Singh said that accused is a bus conductor, he has been arrested. He attempted to sexually assault the boy.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place when the conductor went to the school toilet and saw the boy. He tried to sexually assault the kid. But when the boy tried to resist and raise an alarm, the conductor killed him with a knife.

Earlier in the day, the police have also detained the bus conductor, driver and a school staff member in the case.

Kumar, the son of Amichand, resident of village Ghamroj has been arrested in the Bhondsi murder case of a seven-year-old child, the DCP said in a statement.

DCP Simardeep Singh however didn’t respond to a question on what action has been taken against the school management.

On September 8 morning, the boy was discovered in a mutilated state with scars on various parts of his body. Also, a knife was recovered from near the body of the boy in the toilet of Ryan International School.

The incident came to light at around 8AM after a fellow student discovered the body of the boy and reported it to the school authorities.

Speaking on this unfortunate incident, Child’s father had said, “I have just dropped by child to school as I regular do around 7:55 PM. I reached home and later I got a call from the school … they informed me that the child was bleeding badly and they are taking him to asked me to talk to him , they informed us that the child is bleeding we are taking him to the hospital Badshahpur and asked us to reach there.”

“I and my wife immediately left to that place and then we received another call from school where they said that they were taking him to Artemis Hospitals and again asked us to reach there … when we reached to Artemis and met the doctor, he said that the child was dead before he was brought to the hospital.” 

Child father further said that their son was a happy child, used to go to school happily and play with other children.

“If children are murdered in schools, then on what belief can we leave them for 8 hours there,” Victim’s father said. 

Mentioning about how he could have died, the Father said, “It cannot be an accident … there is a cut starting from his ear to the throat.”

As part of the investigation, a National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) team was also dispatched to the Ryan International School in Gurugram.
